Prequalification Of High Tensile Steel Contractors Tender Notice

Prequalification of firms and subcontractors having demonstrated experience in processing, fabrication and part assembly of high tensile steel structures; welding of pre-assembled structures in flat, horizontal, fillet and vertical positions; fairing and grinding of weld seams; manual and mechanical de-rusting and surface preparation including scraping, wire brushing, mechanical brushing, chipping and grinding to achieve St 3 in accordance with ISO 8501-1; abrasive blast cleaning or grit blasting of steel surfaces and confined spaces to achieve Sa2.5 in accordance with ISO 8501-1 and ISO 12944-4; and application of approved marine protective coating systems including primer, intermediate and finishing coats by airless spray, conventional spray, roller or brush in accordance with approved coating specifications, manufacturers' technical data sheets and ISO 12944-5/7, together with wet and dry film thickness measurement. Firms should have experience in fabrication, processing, part assembly, welding, grinding, fairing, surface preparation, de-rusting and coating application on ships, marine structures, dry dock structures and steel structures, preferably involving epoxy and other high-performance marine coating systems. Prequalification documents containing terms and conditions are available from the concerned department during working hours on payment of a non-refundable Rs. 2,000 pay order issued by a scheduled bank of Pakistan in favour of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd. Only subcontractors prequalified through this process will subsequently be invited to bid.
